Lyon could join Penrith

The Daily Telegraph has reported that Parramatta may offer Jamie Lyon a release to join Penrith.

Lyon's secondary manager and uncle Mick Kelly is a former Panther and wants to see his nephew play for the club. He has approached the Eels about the possibility of a release.

Parramatta CEO Denis Fitzgerald said: ""We were approached by Mick Kelly about Jamie joining Penrith. Jamie has said he didn't like city life but Penrith is a semi-rural area.

"We are only discussing the issue at this stage. We haven't released him - I want to make that point."

The Eels have refused point blank to discuss a release for Lyon to join Manly, a move which the Manly club is claiming may be a "restraint of trade".
