Afamasaga back up to Premmies

Jack Afamasaga has been promoted to back to Premier League after spending a couple of weeks in Jersey Flegg, while Jeremiah Pai has finally broken back into the reserve starting team.

Coming off a good win last week, the Eels are fielding a very strong Premier League forward pack laden with NRL experience against the Cougars. With Pai at lock, Afamasaga and Chris Muckert in the second row, Fuifui Moimoi and Chris Armit the starting props and Shane Muspratt at hooker, the Eels boast a formidable group of starting forwards.

That pack could get a further boost with Aaron Cannings a possible late inclusion. Cannings played Premier League last week despite not being named and while he is listed as "not considered" again this week, there must be a possibility that he will go around again.

Both Feleti Mateo and Luke O'Dwyer who have played NRL at lock will start in the backline. O'Dwyer will be partnered by the promising Brett Delaney, who has won a promotion from Jersey Flegg while Mateo is back at five-eighth alongside half back Tim Smith. John Williams successful return from injury has seen him keep out Steve Mowbray on the wing, with consistent performer Matt Gruszka on the other flank. Joel Reddy is fullback.

Meanwhile, in Jersey Flegg, the Eels have a new halves combination for their clash against the Panthers. Blake Green has been moved from half to five-eighth with Dane Queenan taking over the number seven duties. Chris Law and Guy Williams who were the halves for last week's dissapointing performance have been dropped back to the bench.

The Jersey Flegg forward pack is also very strong. Zeb Taia, Josh Cordoba, Brendan Oake and Weller Huaraki are all big, talented forwards. Matt Keating has won a promotion to the starting team with Simon Greaves dropping back to the bench.

The Eels also have a new centre pairing with Michael Basan and Thomas MacGougan replacing Nathan Russell and Mark Hendy.

Australian schoolboy representative Nathan Armit, who along with brother Chris, is off to the Bulldogs next year has also been named on the bench.
