Grothe still a hope

Eric Grothe is running again and is some hope of playing this weekend.

"Eric has been running again over the last few days and it's possible he could be right by the weekend," Brian Smith said in an audio interview on the official Parramatta website.

If that is the case, the possibility of including Grothe in the team will certainly be discussed, Smith said.

"We haven't seen him train with the squad, he's been on limited duties, but he is running again.

"He's very close."
Comments:
Hopefully he does play will also be interested to see who drops out if he does make it, providing no other injuries force Smith's hand I'd say Langi looks most likly to dropout. With Witt out (unless Thorman is picked) Parra need Burt's goalklcking, McKinnon has been killing them at fullback & Smith seems to be a big fan of Petersen so really only Graham or Langi and if I had to pick I'd go with Ash over Langi.

From the sounds of it, he won't play. I don't think they will rush him back in, considering the Eels won last week. But if he is in the team, I think they will drop Ash. Langi was very good in defence last week and I think that Smith will want to build on last week's defensive efforts.
